Helen Vorster Architect, established in 1992, is a fully licensed architectural practice specializing in custom residential projects. These projects include renovations and additions, new homes, multi-unit homes and cottages. Garden design is frequently included in the overall plan.
With every project the unique conditions and character of the site and existing building, the owner's goals and aesthetic, and the technical solutions for construction are brought together to ensure a well thought out and well built design.
Projects typically start with a first meeting to discuss intentions, budget and schedule. Design work begins with the assessment of existing conditions, preparation of design options, and coordination of approvals with authorities. Once the design is finalized, building permit and construction drawings are prepared. During the permit application period, pricing is obtained from selected contractors. The construction period includes assistance with final selections and details, and site review until the project is completed.
